How Online Lessons Work

Maria is currently accepting only remote students via Skype, allowing students from anywhere in the world to take lessons in the comfort of their own home or rehearsal studio.

Online lessons have been a swiftly growing trend for some time, as evidenced by this 2012 story from The New York Times. They even over some key advantages over in-person lessons, such as the ability to watch recordings of one’s own performances, and to easily rewind and review key points of lessons during practice sessions.

Online lessons also allow learners to connect with the perfect teacher for them, ideally suited to their aptitude, interests, personality and learning style, regardless of their location.

Skype video lessons last either 30, 45 or 60 minutes. No special hardware is required beyond a computer with a basic built-in camera and microphone for beginning and intermediate students.
