Oct, 08“Lucia di Lammermoor” at Symphony Space
Come listen to Il dolce suono at Symphony Space, featuring the lovely Lisa Dispigno on flute and the charming Maria Johnson on piccolo. 😉
A year ago, almost to the day, I was buying THE last seat in the house to hear Natalie Dessay sing Lucia at the Met. The Brooklyn trains were all screwed up that weekend and it took me an extra 40 minutes to get uptown, meaning I had to run out of the train station to get into the house on time and I was all of 30 seconds too late! Ahh! I also broke my favorite high heels while running…and had to listen to the first act downstairs on the tv, which pissed me off. Then during Act II I had to sit next to this guy who was eating crackers during the performance. So I was still pissed off and gave him some of the nastiest looks I’ve ever given anyone during my life. That shut him up.
